Opening the classroom walls.

What if we don’t do more “school visits” and we start to engage with public gardens, museums and galleries as classrooms at least once a week?

  1. I think this is really interesting as i am about to start work in November creating a school programme at an Art Gallery in South London. I think that engaging in assets like public gardens etc in the community is an excellent idea to expand and deepen learning. However, i am thinking about this in the context of London where there are so many things to explore and discover. I wonder what this would look like in a rural school or in a school in a housing estate which is far away from museums and galleries and there may be poor transport links. It would be interesting to think about how this kind of learning can happen outside of towns and cities. You have got me thinking!
