Pallet Town is an epic event for children ages 8-12. The concept is simple; combine pallets, nails, children and hammers et voila you have a pallet town!

The event is best run in summer to ensure a great time for everyone. Depending on what the organisation is able to achieve it can be either a day or a weekend.
Children are divided up into teams, each team having a supervisor or two to support them in the process. During the day(s), events can be held such as team games, theme related activities, a bonfire etc. It’s a great opportunity to connect to local organisations, charities, volunteer groups and businesses!
The concept comes from my experience with the event in the Netherlands which has been running for years. Since coming to the UK I’ve been dreaming about importing this amazing concept!
At the moment we’re looking to connect with people in the Inverness area to set this up there. However, we are also very keen to share the idea and support interested people to try to create something similar!
If you fall in either category please get in touch! We’ve got plenty of more detailed information for whoever is interested!

Creating a brighter future

This is a 5 minute clip with Rob Hopkins speaking about the importance of imagining a better future in order to be able to create it. This was one of our first ever guest live lessons so we had some issues with the streaming meaning that Rob's screen flashes at times however the audio is fine and the occasional flashes don't take away from the inspiration!

Alone in the Jungle

A 10 Minute clip of Dr Jane Goodall sharing her experience and what she had to overcome to become a scientist in a time when female scientists were mostly unheard of, and when she was leading the way in her field. As well as experiences in which she had to be brave living alone in the jungle in her pursuit of understanding and gaining the trust of the chimpanzees she was studying.

‘Listen’

Listen is a feature-length drama inspired by Erahm Christopher’s work with over a million youth throughout North America. Listen tells the story of nearly every high school in America where students hide their pain, friends ignore each other’s cries for help, and adults are too overwhelmed to stop and listen. Here is a link to the trailer.

8 year old’s Covid School

“I like playing with lego and designing different models, and I like playing with my Mum’s phone to make funny movies. My Dad told me about a challenge to design a classroom for covid. I decided to do a school with lego characters and make a film on imovie.

“I like playing with lego and designing different models, and I like playing with my Mum’s phone to make funny movies. My Dad told me about a challenge to design a classroom for covid. I decided to do a school with lego characters and make a film on imovie.

I thought about how many people are in my school. There are 500. So, I thought that each day there would be a hundred people at school, and they could use inside, outside and online. Then I wrote down my ideas as a script, and made the film in our garden. I put all the clips together, and recorded the script and added some music. It was fun.

I would like to go to a school like the one in my movie!”
