System change not climate change. The politics of COP26 in Glasgow
Edinburgh College climate week- System change not climate change. The politics of COP26 in Glasgow Speaker: Claire James, Campaign against Climate Change national coordinator Part of Edinburgh College Climate week. A meeting hosted by EIS-FELA. Thursday 7 October, 12.30-1.30pm on Zoom The United Nations has declared ‘code red for humanity’.
COP26 is the important annual meeting of governments. It is taking place in Glasgow in November. The danger and speed of climate change which is already happening means it is vital that carbon emissions are reduced quickly. But 25 previous COP meetings have failed to do that. Why has this happened and how can we make sure it does not happen again? This meeting is called by the lecturers’ union EIS but is open to all students and staff.
